Read any good books lately? I have stacks of how-to, self-help, travel, dog training, zen stuff, but no novels that make my heart sing. I need a couple for the Africa trip. Any suggestions? I tend to choose a book by the cover... I also choose wine by the label. If it's pretty, I'll buy it. Sometimes I'm terribly disappointed with both books and wine...

KISSING THE TOP OF MY HUSBAND'S SILVER HEAD BEFORE I LEFT FOR WORK.
NOT RUNNING OUT OF GAS THIS MORNING BEFORE I GOT TO A STATION.
FINDING OUT MY FISH SITTER SAID "NETTY" MY FISH IS STILL ALIVE AFTER A WEEKS VACATION AWAY.

1. My Great Aunt Nettie who is 105 today!
2. My husband who is finally feeling better!

Soccer season almost being over, what with the weather getting colder and wetter all the time.
Apple cider and cinnamon doughnuts from the local mill.
Hot cup of chamomille tea after a long cold day.

Today I am grateful for:
My son's 120th day of sobriety.
The two golden butterflies I saw at the local nursery today.
My little dog, Izzy, for making me laugh when she licked my toes.
My husband and went on safari to Kenya in the spring You will fall in love with this continent and its people;it is impossible not to. The books I read while there and enjoyed are;Tickbite Fever by David Bennen ;Dangerous Beauty,Life and Death in Africa,True stories from a Safari guide and as we also went to Zanzibar;The Zanzibar chest. If you would rather have a novel if you have not read A thousand splendid suns I would really recommend it.
